Class descriptions

MMA - Level 1

This beginning level fight class is designed for those students who want to experience fighting in a step-by-step, methodical, non-intimidating fashion. Students of the MMA Fundamentals class will learn the essential strikes, blocks, and movements of Mixed Martial Arts and will be brought along slowly until they are accustomed to the contact that occurs in a fight. This class focuses on key fundamentals, reflexes, & small details that are often over looked in action.

MMA - Level 2

MMA - Level 2 class is for competitors that are looking for more advanced & experienced techniques and live sparring. MMA is the fastest growing sport in history and has its sights on becoming a recognized Olympic Sport through Pankration. Unlike any other MMA club, our Level 2 program focuses on the seamless transitions in all the ranges of combat into a unique system of Mixed Martial Arts and self-defense called Total Defense System.
We are currently scouting local talent to represent Team Hawaii MMA  and Team Hawaii Pankration to compete in National and World Competitions.


Warm up by practicing dozens of blocks, strikes, through choreographed sequences.  Next, using gloves and wraps, punches and kicks are focused on contact with heavy bags, mits, and opponents.  Uplifting music with your coach calling the shots to keep you motivated. Focus is on proper technique, spacing, and footwork, as you learn to channel power from your core with a balanced stance. Trainers use pre-designed drills teaching proper footwork, balance, and a sense of spacing in order to develop explosive heavy bag technique- maximizing speed, power, accuracy and super endurance.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Students will be trained with the same drills and training methods used by professional Kickboxing and Muay Thai Fighters. Punching, kicking, knee strikes and combinations.

Students will spar with other students in this class.

Kickboxing class for adults & teens (14 yrs+) Bring: mouthguard, cup (males only), boxing gloves, wraps, shin guards, headgear

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)

BJJ class will consist of warm-ups and stretching to prepare the body.  Then techniques will be taught from various positions such as guard, passing guard, sweeps, escapes and submissions. Class will end with students (under supervision) actively sparring (rolling) in Jiu-Jitsu to help ensure proper use of techniques learned.
